Christmas Market in Brixen

The traditional Christmas Market in Brixen will start November 26th  at 5 pm with the arrival of the Angel of Christmas, followed by a procession of baroque angels.

The opening will be followed by the famous cut gingerbread. Musicians follow in traditional songs of Advent. On 29th November will be possible to have a special cancellation up to 4 pm.

On 5th December there will be celebrations for the 40 years of twinning between Brixen and Regensburg: Advent concert in collaboration with the School of Music in Regensburg and the parade of S. Nicholas and Krampus for the historic center.

From morning December 6th you can enjoy recipes Eisacktal: preparation and sampling of Krapfen Strauben on stage and in Piazza Duomo. On 9th December will be the day for children with a Christmas workshop.

The stands are all in Piazza Duomo, the delicacy of the traditional cuisine, which you can taste also stalls, are flanked by the stalls filled with Christmas gift ideas and decorative objects of all kinds and for all tastes.

Britain has a secular tradition linked to the crib. This relives the offering of such market, as in initiatives related to it. It’s possible to buy the crib figures carved in wood or whole “cottage” with the principal personages, always hand-crafted. A visit to the occasion and the Bishop’s Palace, which is home to the Museum of the Nativity.
